The Affordable Route Into Colour
Natural pink and blue diamonds are among the rarest stones on earth. The Argyle mine that produced most of the world's pink diamonds closed in 2020, and prices have moved accordingly. For most people a natural vivid pink is simply not a realistic purchase.
Lab-grown coloured diamonds solve that. They are genuine diamonds, grown in controlled conditions and given their colour by the same trace elements that colour natural stones, at a fraction of the price. Same hardness of 10, same everyday durability, same grading laboratories.
The only requirement, exactly as with natural colour, is clear disclosure. We state on every order whether a stone is natural, treated or grown.

Rarity, and with it any realistic secondary market. A natural Fancy Vivid pink is a genuinely scarce object and behaves like one. A lab-grown one is a beautiful stone that can be produced again tomorrow.
If the colour is what you love, that is a good reason to buy it and it will look identical on the hand. If the scarcity is what you love, lab-grown will never give you that, and we would rather say so now than after you have bought.
Lab-Grown Colour Questions
Is a lab-grown pink diamond a real diamond?
Yes. It is chemically, optically and physically identical to a natural pink diamond, graded by the same laboratories. The difference is that it was grown rather than mined, and priced accordingly.
How much cheaper is lab-grown fancy colour?
Dramatically, and the gap is widest exactly where natural colour is rarest. Natural vivid pinks and blues are among the most expensive stones on earth by carat; the lab-grown equivalents are a small fraction of that.
Will the colour fade?
No. The colour comes from the diamond's atomic structure, not from a surface treatment, so it is permanent. It will not fade, shift or wash out with cleaning or wear.
Can you tell it apart from a natural coloured diamond?
Not by eye, and not with a loupe. It takes specialist laboratory equipment. This is exactly why every stone should carry a report stating its origin, and why we document it on your order.
Is it suitable for an engagement ring?
Entirely. At Mohs 10 it is as hard as any diamond, which puts it well ahead of every coloured gemstone for daily wear. If you want colour in a ring worn every day without worrying about it, this is the most practical answer there is.
