Fire Opal Engagement Rings

Fire opal is the orange to red variety, found principally in Mexico, and unlike most opal it is often faceted rather than cut as a cabochon. The best stones glow rather than sparkle.

Softer than most bridal stones at 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale — a bezel setting and a little care go a long way.
