Gemstones

A coloured centre stone is the oldest tradition in engagement rings — diamonds only became the default in the twentieth century. Our loose gemstones run from sapphire and ruby through to spinel, tanzanite and alexandrite, each chosen individually.

Durability is the decision most people skip: sapphire and ruby sit at 9 on the Mohs scale and take daily wear, while opal and moonstone want protecting.
