European Cut Lab-grown Diamonds

The old European cut is the round brilliant's Victorian and Edwardian predecessor — a small table, a tall crown, a visible culet and 58 hand-cut facets that produce broad, romantic flashes instead of modern needle-sharp scintillation.

Genuine European cuts are a finite supply, since none have been produced since roughly the 1930s, and that is much of the appeal. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined stones, certified to the same standards and typically 60-80% less per carat. Our lab-grown diamond guide covers the detail. Compare it with every other outline in our diamond shapes guide, and get to grips with what actually drives price in our diamond 4Cs guide. All our stones carry independent laboratory certification and transparent pricing, and our London team will talk you through any of them with no obligation.
