Radiant Cut Diamonds

The radiant cut takes the cropped-corner outline of an emerald and fills it with brilliant faceting, producing intense fire in a rectangular or square silhouette. It was designed in the 1970s specifically to bridge the two families.

Because the faceting scatters light so effectively, radiants mask colour and inclusions well, which makes them one of the better shapes for stretching a budget. You can compare natural and lab-grown stones side by side here — chemically and optically identical, differing only in origin and price. Our lab-grown diamond guide explains how the two compare. Compare it with every other outline in our diamond shapes guide, and get to grips with what actually drives price in our diamond 4Cs guide. Every stone is independently certified, priced transparently, and can be set into any ring in our collection or into a design of your own.
