Beryl Gemstones
Beryl is the mineral family behind emerald, aquamarine, morganite and heliodor. Stones sold simply as beryl are usually the paler greens, golds and colourless goshenite that fall outside those named varieties.
At 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, beryl in any variety is a practical everyday stone. We buy loose so you can choose the stone first and the setting second — see our diamond and gemstone guide for how colour, cut and clarity are judged outside the diamond scale, or which gemstones survive everyday wear if it is going to be worn daily. Each stone is independently graded and openly priced, ready to set into one of our settings or a piece designed from scratch with you.
